We’re 10 years old this year, and we’re marking our first decade in publishing with Topaz (MINERAL monograph No. 14), released earlier this year, and The San Juan Mountains of Colorado (No. 15), due in August. The San Juans issue is a bit of an experiment: This was the most requested locality which did not make American Mineral Treasures. If it is well received, we will add more North American regions to our schedule; so let us know what you think. We only have 40 copies or so left of monographs No. 3: Tourmaline and No. 5: Gold. We are reserving them for new subscribers; so if you’ve been considering subscribing to our series, now is a great time to sign up!

We are also helping to celebrate Arizona’s 2012 Centennial with an Arizona Minerals 2012 calendar (out this summer and free to subscribers) and a 320-page hardcover book Collecting Arizona, which we will release at the 2012 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Collecting Arizona is a retrospective of mineral collecting in Arizona, an historical view of the state from a mineral collector's perspective. We’ll be offering a preorder discount on that title this fall; so keep an eye out for that.

Longer term, we have a monograph on Diamond, another on Apatite and a double issue on Silver Minerals, which are starting to take shape. A new edition of John Sinkankas' Mineralogy (for Amateurs) is in the works and is slated for publication in early 2013.

It's a great time for mineral books!
