Note that Version 2.0 of the Photo-Atlas of Minerals uses Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 Express, which it installs on your computer. The Photo-Atlas was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Please check the Microsoft website for more specific information on these programs.

Yes, there is still no Mac version.
Version 2 of the Photo-Atlas of Minerals was developed using Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005. These programs only operate under Windows (2000 Professional or later). For those devoted Mac users who can't live without the Photo-Atlas (and, of course, we hope that's all of you), you might want to try one of the PC emulation programs available for the Mac, such as Microsoft's Virtual PC.
