Hungary's most famous mineral locality, the Rudabánya copper, silver, iron deposit has been mined on and off, probably since the new Stone Age. Though the mine is now closed and the town nearly abandoned, Rudabánya's long history and fine mineral specimens continue to capture the imaginations of collectors.
